EODev, a French developer and manufacturer of electro-hydrogen power generators, has announced the commercialization of packaged solutions over a 10 to 1750 kVA power range. The first models will be available for order starting from the first half of 2023 and will enter production in 2024.

Since its entry into business three years ago, EODev reports it has sold close to 100 power generators globally, including the 110 kVA GEH2 and the 70 kW REXH2 onboard model, both of which are equipped with a Toyota fuel cell and a lithium-ion iron phosphate battery.

It is now initiating the second phase of product development by expanding the range to include “plug & play” solutions for both existing customers, including those in the equipment rental and events industries, and new markets such as grid power backup or fast EV charging.

“The acceleration of our geographical and technological deployment continues,” said Stéphane Jardin, chief commercial officer, EODev.

“The GEH2 is a relevant device for the development of electric mobility, last-mile fleet delivery, the electrification of construction machinery or when the grid is faulty or non-existent. This new range will allow us to respond to many requests but also to continue to develop simple, effective and realistic solutions.”

The new high-power GEH2 modules will include a 20 ft. container version rated 350 kVA and a 40 ft. container version rated 1050 kVA.

The range also includes a 280 kW module in a 20 ft. container designed specifically for EV charging; and a modular 10 kVA “Mini” GEH2 to meet the needs of the telecom industry, among others, as well as for network backup in the residential market during outages.

The next-generation REXH2, which is in the process of Type Approval Certification, has paved the way for development of three more modules using the same base. Rated 280 kW (10 ft. container), 560 kW (20 ft. container) and 1400 kW (40 ft. container), these units are capable of being operated in parallel, and targeted to the needs of large and highly energy-intensive marine vessels, including cargo ships such as the upcoming Energy Observer 2.

At the low end of the power range, an 8 kW version of the REXH2 is intended for use in recreational boats as well as small motorboats and sailboats.

“These last few years have allowed us to acquire leading know-how in the design and management of fuel cell systems in order to optimize their efficiency and lifespan – two key points if we want to offer competitive and effective long-term solutions”, said Jérémie Lagarrigue, EODev CEO.

“The new range is the expression of this know-how in research and development and the result of the experience gathered from our operations thanks to our customers around the world. What we did not anticipate, however, is the acceleration of demand and the need to move faster than expected, especially beyond Europe.”

EODev has sales and distribution agreements in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Oceania. The assembly line installed in Montlhéry, France, now delivers one GEH2 per day in response to an exponential growth of orders, the company said.
