MCS update will allow photos to be saved with GPS details

MCS, a rental software provider, has developed a new functionality that will enable rental companies to take jobsite photographs and save them to GPS location details, affording users a more efficent and faster means to finding equipment on sites.

“The ability for rental companies to now store site photographs and GPS location details has been especially significant for industries such as generator, portable sanitation and portable accommodation rental,” explained Josh Lewis, MCS president. “With equipment commonly located on large construction or event sites, it can be incredibly time-consuming to complete jobs without knowing exactly where the item is.”

Additionally, rental companies will also now be able to record GPS details of where equipment needs to be delivered on-site, making deliveries smoother and more efficient, the company said. Once the equipment has been delivered, drivers can obtain delivery signatures, complete delivery checklists and take GPS-enabled site photographs, which are then all instantly available in the central MCS rental management solution.

“This step towards better visibility of equipment location has been yet another great addition to the MCS Transport Mobile functionality,” Lewis added. “Empowered with more information about each rental contract, our clients can provide even better customer service and have an improved overview of all of their equipment assets.”
