Important updates regarding annual scaffold event

The Scaffold & Access Industry Association’s (SAIA) Annual Convention & Exposition, set for Oct. 16-20 in Vancouver, is shaping up to be one for the record books.

With a sold-out exhibition hall, the SAIA reminds any interested parties looking to book rooms within the host hotel (JW Marriott Parq Vancouver,) to not delay – the hotel is also reaching a sold-out status. For more travel and hotel details, including booking links and registration, click here.

The SAIA would also like to remind attendees of this year’s amended format and schedule, noting the event has shifted by one day. This year’s main dates and meetings will commence on Tuesday, Oct. 17 and run through Thursday, Oct. 19 (versus its previous format of Monday through Wednesday.)

Training opportunities and networking events

This year, the SAIA will offer four different training classes through its acclaimed SAIA University (SAIAU) Training Program, including: Train the Trainer, CPT Frame, CPT Suspended and CPT System. The Association recommends that interested parties should register as early as possible due to limited spaces available. As a reminder, training courses are not included in attendee registration, and therefore will cost extra. To view and book a course, click here.

Additionally, a golf tournament will be held on Monday, Oct. 16 at Furry Creek Golf & Country Club. There are two registration levels, one for $225 that includes transportation to/from the course and hotel, cart and green fees and lunch after golf, and another for $300 that includes all of the previously mentioned amenities, plus club rentals.

The tournament will have various contests for participants, including closest to the pin, longest drive and the top foursome. For more information, see www.saiaonline.org.

Lastly, the Association is proud to announce it received a record number of entries for its product awards celebration, which will be held during the President’s Gala Dinner & Awards on Thursday, Oct. 19. The SAIA Project Awards recognize member companies that have gone above and beyond in contributing to the overall success of a project within the scaffold and access markets – and are highly regarded within the industry.

The call for 2023 entries has now closed, but submissions for the Association’s 2024 awards will open on January 1, 2024. Interested parties can find out more here.
