Holt-owned renter buys in Texas

15 December 2022

Rental company Texas First Rentals, a division of Caterpillar dealer Holt, has acquired Texas based rental business Rental One for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 2004 in Colleyville, Texas, Rental One offers storage containers, construction equipment and concrete, safety, erosion control and construction supplies.

Texas First Rentals said the deal will add 15 sites in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Central Texas areas, expanding its network to 40 locations.

Texas First Rentals - which serves 118 Texas counties - offers aerial, earthmoving and portable power equipment, including Caterpillar, Genie, JLG and Sullair brands.

Peter J Holt, CEO and General Manager of Holt, described Rental One as “an excellent strategic and cultural fit that complements our existing products and services.”

The acquisition will see Rental One’s 300 employees, including the leadership team, become employees of Texas First Rentals. They will continue to operate from current Rental One locations.

It would also see customers benefit from “a broader range of products and combined expertise,” Rental One President Mike O’Neal said.

The deal comes just a month after Holt created an industrial rentals division to add to its construction rental businesses.
