Genie has debuted its new GTH-1256 telescopic handler at this year’s ARA Show, which is currently taking place in Orlando, Florida in the US.

Designed to offer a lower total cost of ownership, the GTH-1256 is the sister model to the GTH-636, GTH-844 and GTH-1056 machines.

Its 5,450kg (12,000lb) maximum capacity means it can handle loads of 2,721kg (6,000lb) at its full 17.1m (56ft 3in) height and 1,599kg (3,500lb) at its maximum 12.8m (42ft) reach.

The GTH-1256 is fitted with a 120hp Deutz engine with four-speed powershift transmission, and is said to deliver 15% more efficiency in power transfer for picking and placing activities than similar models.

With the aim of simplifying equipment fleet ownership and maintenance, “the new GTH-1256 shares many features and parts across the other GTH product line”, said Genie.

The access equipment manufacturer’s line-up for the 2023 ARA Show, also included its latest electric and hybrid machines, such as the award-winning electric S-60 DC and hybrid S-60 FE boom lifts.

Said to be the industry’s first lightweight, four-wheel drive electrified telescopic boom lifts in the 18m (60 ft) height class, both models offer a maximum outreach of 12.3 m (40ft 6in) and a platform capacity 300kg (660lb) on a 1.83m (6ft) jib.

Like the S-60 FE, the S-60 DC is equipped with four efficient AC electric drive motors. Additionally, the S-60 DC model also offers a low weight of 7,983kg (17,600lb) and quiet operation.

Simon Meester, Genie President, said, “For more than 55 years, the Genie team has been focused on delivering quality solutions that meet jobsite and equipment owners’ needs.

“That is reflect in our product line-up, which is already more than 70% electrified, and growing.”

“I’m excited to have an opportunity to show customers how our newest models can offer a lower total cost of ownership, a strong ROI, and, in many cases, lower jobsite emissions too.”

Genie also showcased its Z-45 DC articulating model, which boasts a working height of 15.9m (51ft 8in), an outreach of 6.9m (22ft 9in), as well as an up-and-over reach of 7.5m (24ft 7in).

The Z-45 features a 1.5m (5ft) articulating jib and is fitted with a 300kg (660lb) platform.

The Genie GS-1932 E-Drive Lithium-Ion Scissor Lift was also among those on display at the event.

Featuring a zero-maintenance battery that has a lifespan of 10 years and can work in extreme temperatures, the GS-1932 E-Drive Scissor model can be fast charged in just four hours and offers a working height of 7.8m (25ft 3in) and has a platform capacity of 227kg (500lb).
